After footage of an altercation between Colby Covington and Fabricio Werdum, it was clear that we’d be hearing a lot more about the incident, and now comes word that the latter’s been charged.
According to multiple reports, Werdum has been charged with common assault, after a video was posted showing him throw a boomerang at Colby Covington. The American welterweight has also accused Werdum of punching him, which the Brazilian heavyweight denies.
Werdum claims that Covington, who called Brazilian fans “filthy animals” last month after he defeated Demian Maia, was the one who initiated the altercation.
The incident took place in Sydney, Australia, which is hosting UFC Fight Night 121 on Saturday. Werdum is scheduled to fight Marcin Tybura in the main event.
