Although it’s not looking like Nate Diaz is going to sign on to a December 30th bout with Tyron Woodley, the latter’s reported he’s still training for the proposed showdown.

Not long ago the welterweight champ relayed that a December 30th fight with Diaz has been tabled, and that while he’s agreed to the bout, Woodley said the Stockton star has not. Well, although several days have gone by, and no fight is signed, Woodley recently said this on “The MMA Hour” (quote via Bloody Elbow):

“Until I hear no, I’m not going to stop training,” Woodley said. “So when they say 24 (hours), I assume 48, maybe a little longer — 48 or 72 hours — because sometimes the Diaz brothers aren’t known to be the greatest negotiators, with returning phone calls and coming to terms on deals. So 24 hours to them could be three days, but this is my job.”

More recently, Diaz’s boxing coach, Richard Perez reported that unless the UFC hikes its offer to the fighter, substantially, the scrap’s not going to happen. So, increasingly it looks like this bout is dead in the water.
