Jackson – Wink MMA has long been regarded as one of the planet’s best gyms, but recently the renowned camp has suffered some high profile setbacks. So why does Donald Cerrone think he and his team have been taking some lumps? The popular fighter isn’t really sure.

Over the last year or so, Jackson – Wink MMA members like Holly Holm, Alistair Overeem, and Cub Swanson have come up short in pivotal fights. Prior to his decision win over Junior Albini in November, Andrei Arlovski had lost five in a row, and the former heavyweight champ headed to American Top Team for some training stints. Cerrone, meanwhile, has lost three straight.

Well, Cerrone was a guest on the latest UFC “Unfiltered” podcast, and he had this to say about the all-star camp’s recent setbacks (quote via MMA Junkie):

“It’s just wild,” Cerrone said. “I mean, (expletive), it’s not a thing that’s the norm. When we step in there we’ve been a pretty successful squad, but lately we’ve had a bit of trouble. Look at me, I’m (expletive) three losses. The first I’ve had ever. It’s (expletive), I don’t know what the (expletive) is going on.”

It will be interesting to see if the Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn, two of the most brilliant minds in the game, decide significant adjustments need to be made .
