Not only did Stipe Miocic defend the heavyweight title for a record third time at UFC 220, the Ohio fighter took home the top purse for the January 20th, Boston event.
According to the numbers that the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation (via MMA Junkie), Miocic received a check for $600,000 following his decision win over Francis Ngannou. The challenger, meanwhile, was paid $500,000.
That’s the same amount Daniel Cormier was paid for his stoppage win over Volkan Oezdemir, who collected $300,000.
