If you’ve closed the book on all the Floyd Mayweather – Conor McGregor 2 rumors, well, you may have to pry it open and leave it that way for a bit yet…
Most of the talk regarding McGregor in recent weeks has been tied to the possibility of him fighting Tony Ferguson or Khabib Nurmagomedov next. Following his stoppage loss to Mayweather last August, there was some speculation about the possibility of McGregor boxing again, but the UFC champ has pretty much put that all to rest.
Well, more recently, Mayweather has been teasing (and or trolling) that he’s still thinking about making a move into MMA. White was a guest on the latest UFC Tonight, and when he was asked about the possibility of McGregor – Mayweather II happening, he said this (quote via MMA Junkie):
“Floyd said leading up to the fight with Conor that he would do both,” White said. “We’ll see what happens. Obviously the only way making that fight again makes sense is if he comes into the octagon. We went over and boxed him – the UFC and Conor McGregor. Now it’s time for him to reciprocate and come fight in the octagon.”
Now, yes, none of this means that Mayweather would actually agree to fight McGregor in the cage, but, could this actually happen?
