Not sure if Matt Brown bought any Snoop Dogg albums in the past, but if he did, it certainly looks like the welterweight won’t be doing so again…
Brown recently appeared on Joe Rogan’s MMA podcast, in advance of his April 14th bout with Carlos Condit, at UFC on FOX 29. That fight came together, after the 37 year-old Brown relayed he’d hop out of semi-retirement, for the opportunity to fight his fellow veteran fighter.
Well during Brown’s appearance on the show, Snoop Dogg’s post-fight tirade against Conor McGregor came up. After the latter was stopped by boxing star Floyd Mayweather last August, the rapper took to social media, and blasted the UFC champ. Snoop Dogg also credited McGregor for his heart, but, since he called the Irish fighter a “b-tch” and “punkass”, a lot of folks in the MMA world weren’t too thrilled about the rant. In addition, it didn’t sit well with many, because the music icon has done commentating work for the UFC.
One of those people was Brown, as he had this to say about Snoop Dogg, on Rogan’s show (quotes via MMA Fighting):
“Snoop Dogg, that piece of s**t” said Brown. “I’ll call him out. He called out Conor. He called him a b**ch. That’s not cool, man. I don’t care [if he was intoxicated], he put it out in public. He could have apologized, deleted it, whatever. If I go to the UFC PI [UFC Performance Institute], I might just punch him if I see him there. I’m cool with that.”
“I’m just saying, that really offends me,” added Brown. “Conor, people all have their opinions about him, I respect the s**t out of that guy. I love what he’s done, I love his schtick. I think he’s a true sportsman. He comes into the limelight for a while and then he goes back, and I think he works his ass off. I really think he does. He wouldn’t be where he’s at if he didn’t, but everyone judges him by what he does out here.
There you have it. Now, chances are Brown wouldn’t actually do this, but having “The Immortal” on your bad side, has to be a wee bit unsettling.
