Rashad Evans is heading back to the light-heavyweight division, as expected, as the UFC’s announced he’s fighting Anthony Smith at 205, June 9th.

Recently the promotion confirmed that Evans – Smith will be part of UFC 225, which will take place in Chicago, Illinois.

The 38 year-old Evans (19-7-1) returns to light-heavyweight, having lost four straight at 185. In the former champ’s last bout, at UFC FN 144 last August, he lost by split decision.

The 29 year-old Smith (28-13) has decided to move up to light-heavyweight, after being stopped by middleweight Thiago Santos in February. Before that, Smith had won three in a row.

So, that’s an interesting addition to UFC 225. Evans could be in a must win situation.

The card has yet to receive a main event, but recently the UFC announced that Curtis Blaydes will take on Alistair Overeem at the upcoming card.
