Recently it was reported that plans were in motion to have CM Punk fight at UFC 225, and now the former pro-wrestling star’s pretty much confirmed that’s going down.
For months there’s been talk about if and when the UFC would bring Punk back to the Octagon, following his one sided, loss to Mickey Gall in 2016. Immediately after Punk’s disastrous debut, Dana White said the Chicago resident likely wouldn’t be back. But, since then, there’s been repeated speculation the 39 year-old would be signed for at least another fight.
Well, more recently it was reported that the UFC is targeting the June 9th, UFC 225 card in Chicago for Punk’s return, and that he would fight Mike Jackson.
On Monday, Punk tweeted out this comment. You draw your own conclusions…
June nine, after I win and lock eyes with my beautiful wife, embrace my coaches and shout out my entire team https://t.co/TmzRWR2kbn
