Evidently the media members who determine the UFC’s rankings just needed to see Khabib Nurmagomedov defeat one more, top 15 ranked lightweight, before moving “The Eagle” into the top ten of the pound-for-pound ranks…
Yes, following Nurmagomedov’s decision win over Al Iaquinta last weekend at UFC 223, the new champ has jumped up 6 spots in the P4P ranks and is now #8. Although Iaquinta took a loss, his stock went up after the bout, as “Raging Al” moved up one spot and is now ranked #10.
Zabit Magomedsharipov, who earned a thrilling, decision win over Kyle Bochniak at UFC 223, has moved into the top 15 at 145, as the rising fighter is now #14.
Interestingly enough, although neither Georges St-Pierre or Conor McGregor competed, the two switched spots in the P4P ranks. GSP is now ranked #2 and McGregor is #3.
