Last month jaws were dropped throughout MMA when Dana White reported that the UFC had let Yair Rodriguez go, but it looks like “Pantera’s” next bout will be in the Octagon after all…

White initially reported that Rodriguez was going to fight Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC 227, August 4th, but as it turned out, the rising featherweight passed on the fight (and relayed that by tweeting “Fake News”).

The UFC President proceeded to announce that the promotion had “no use” for Rodriguez, since according to White, Rodriguez had also turned down a fight with Ricardo Lamas. Considering how promising of a fighter “Pantera” is, the development surprised a lot of folks, to put it mildly. But, more recently, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported the following:

Considering how talented Rodriguez is, and because he’s only 25, this turn around isn’t that surprising. Here’s hoping the fight with Magomedsharipov indeed happens.
