Not only has Yair Rodriguez confirmed he’s going to fight Zabit Magomedsharipov in September, the rising star says he’s on the “best terms” now with the UFC, following his highly publicized rift with the promotion.

Last month heads throughout MMA were turned, when UFC boss man Dana White reported that Rodriguez had been released. According to White, they had decided to do so, after Rodriguez turned down an August 4th fight with Magomedsharipov and another bout with Ricardo Lamas.

Since Rodriguez is widely considered to be a rising commodity at 145, and because of his fan friendly style, the news shocked a lot of folks. But, following a report that Rodriguez has talked it out with the promotion, and agreed to fight Magomedsharipov on September 8th, “Pantera” himself has posted the comments below:

Respetuosamente: Yair Rodriguez. Viva Mexico ! ?? . . . I address to all my fans, friends and family for always been supportive of my career. As well I’ll like to thank all of those companies showing interest on my persona and work. – Sean Shelby and I have a friend in common, Mario Delgado, he was the connection between us. He set up a meeting between Sean & I, where we had a friendly conversation during lunch on Friday. We got into the interview realization that what happened was a big miscommunication and bad timing. After the conversation I’m happy to know that the UFC & I are in the best terms ever and now I’m back in track to chase my dream of become a UFC champion. Zabit Magomedsharipov, see you September 8th in Las Vegas . Respectfully: Yair Rodriguez. Viva Mexico ! ??

There you have it. It would be interesting to know if these “terms” include a bump in pay? Contracts aside, Rodriguez – Magomedsharipov has the makings to be truly, truly special.
