Following his tightly contested victory at UFC 225, Robert Whittaker reported he broke his hand not long into the contest. Since then, the middleweight champ’s jiu-jitsu team has shared out an x-ray of the injury.

During Whittaker’s thrilling bout with Yoel Romero last night, it became apparent he wasn’t throwing his right hand very often. After he was announced the victor, via split decision, the Australian resident confirmed the injury.

UFC 225 took place in Chicago, Illinois. The fight marked the second time Whittaker has defeated Romero, as he earned a decision win over the decorated wrestler last July.
