Anthony Pettis returned to the win column tonight at UFC 226, and “Showtime” did so in memorable fashion.

As most expected would be the case, Chiesa came out pressuring in search of the takedown. Although he was able to score a couple of takedowns in the first round, Chiesa was unable to capitalize on the position. Before the opening frame ended, Pettis began to find his range and landed a couple of strikes.

Shortly into round two, Pettis tagged Chiesa with a hard right, and in the ensuing scramble, he attempted to finish the fight with a guillotine. Chiesa battled out, but Pettis transitioned into a beautifully executed, triangle choke to finish the fight. What a win for the former lightweight champ.
