BJ Penn’s fighting days aren’t over just yet, as the UFC’s announced the legend is returning to the Octagon on December 29th.
Recently the promotion confirmed that the former lightweight and welterweight champ will face Ryan Hall. The bout will be part of UFC 232 in Las Vegas.
Since Penn is winless in his last six bouts, and due to comments he made earlier this year, there was talk that the 39 year-old could finally be done competing. But, clearly that’s not the case.
In Penn’s (16-12-2) last bout, at UFC FN 112 last June, he lost via decision to Dennis Siver.
Hall (6-1), meanwhile, hasn’t fought in a while either, as the renowned grappler hasn’t competed since 2016, when he defeated Gray Maynard by UD.
A bout between bantamweight champ Amanda Nunes and featherweight champ, Cris “Cyborg”, is expected to headline UFC 232.
