Thiago AlvesWhile the UFC makes its return to Japan this weekend, they will also be traveling across the world for the next event the following weekend with UFC on FX 2. The event takes place at Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia. This will be the UFC’s third event in the last three years in Australia, following UFC 110 and UFC 127, which also took place in Sydney.

The full card of fights is now official, with a four fight main card set to air live on FX, along with the preliminary card airing on both Fuel TV and Facebook.

The main event for UFC on FX 2 features two top welterweight contenders, with Thiago Alves taking on Martin Kampmann.

Also featured on the main card will be the first round of the flyweight tournament, as the 125 pound division will make its debut at the event. The first round matchups include former Tachi Palace Fights flyweight champion Ian McCall taking on Demetrious Johnson, and Joseph Benavidez taking on Yasuhiro Urushitani.

Johnson and Benavidez, both former bantamweights who fought for the title at 135 pounds, will be making their flyweight debut.

Rounding out the main card will be a middleweight matchup between The Ultimate Fighter season 11 winner Court McGee and Constantinos Philippou.

Like the previous UFC cards held in Australia, the event will air live in the United States during its usual Saturday night time slot, which means the event will take place early Sunday morning in Australia.
